The Dark Cosmology Centre is an observationally driven initiative, with a strong theoretical aspect and a growing involvement in instrument development. It has become clear in the development of our research plan that it has a strongly interwoven structure. Within the research themes of DARK a number of key research projects have been defined. The key projects are at any time prioritized and they typically require a significant proportion of DARK's available resources.
The themes, the scientific questions, the facilities employed, and the projects all allow of their own ways of organising the research plan. For example, the scientific questions related to the first galaxies involve not only observing early galaxies, but the nature of dark matter, theory of dust formation, and black holes; the key project on clusters allows us to investigate dark energy, dark matter and early star-formation.
