Visit by Daniel Perley

Daniel Perley is visiting DARK from
27 August – 6 September 2013. His stay at DARK includes collaboration with the GRB group and working on data obtained from ongoing projects with Spitzer and elsewhere.

Daniel is currently a Hubble Fellow at the CalTech Cahill Center for Astronomy and Astrophysics. He got is PhD at the University of California, Berkeley in 2010.

Daniel's main areas of research include:

  • Gamma-ray bursts (afterglows, progenitors, and environments)
  • Interstellar extinction; high-redshift dust properties
  • Star formation in high-redshift galaxies
  • Massive stellar evolution and supernovae
  • Data processing software development.
