- Neutrinos in supernovae and binary neutron star merger remnants

In September 2019, Ian began his Ph.D. in the AstroNu group at the Niels Bohr International Academy, under the supervision of Prof. Irene Tamborra. Ian currently works numerical simulations of neutrino flavor conversions in binary neutron star merger remnants and core-collapse supernova. In particular, Ian is interested in developing more sophisticated numerical routines to study the so-called neutrino fast flavor conversions which are predicted to be ubiquitous in the merger of two neutron stars
